  "notes": "Proposed real replacement for assumed-led-pod-pair-20w: a small (2 in), well-documented 12 V pod from a US maker. 9-16 V input fits the 12 V rail. Power warning: the pair draws 25.6 W, and with the VLP-16 (8 W typ, 3 A spin-up surge) that exceeds the DDR-30L-12's 30 W/2.5 A; either PWM-dim the lights (low-side MOSFET) or move them/the lidar to a bigger 12 V supply. Cheaper generic 2 in pods (Nilight/Auxbeam, ~$25/pair) publish no reliable dims or mass."
